He has also created a couple mixtape series. One called the Cassette Tape Classics (you can
find on LiveMixtape) that includes mixes of UGK, Bone Thugs N Harmony, DJ Screw, and
along other various classic southern hip-hop artist, teaching the history of some of your
favorite artist/record labels and the other called “Play Me Some Pimpin” which is a nod to
the classic writers and performers such as Bobby Womack, Isley Brothers, Willie Hutch, etc.
Showcasing some of their classic hits from the past and how they are being sampled in today’s
music.
“It’s important to embrace the southern hip-hop culture. We are the ones that set the roots
for everyone in the music industry. They learn their talents here but carry it back to other
states and make it their own. I feel the south is the birthplace of ALL things musically
related.” – DJ Breakem Off
